Hash-making Session at Sweetgrass Solventless’ Demonstration Lab
Sweetgrass Solventless continues its series of public hash-making sessions with a free demonstration of live rosin production on Saturday March 8th, 2025.
With the only dedicated demonstration lab of its kind on the East Coast, visitors can watch as our Head Hashmaker, Ben McCabe, introduces the basics of the solventless extraction process, presses bubble hash into live rosin, and answers your questions about the world of concentrates.
Come learn how this chemical-free technique, marrying ancient traditions and modern technology, delivers the purest and most authentic experience of the plant. And enjoy special event pricing on Sweetgrass’ lines of live rosin all afternoon.

Love Tarot Readings with Zhana
Come by on February 13th from 4-7pm for special love tarot readings when professional tarot reader, Zhana returns to Sweetgrass.
Zhana brings over 20 years of intentional witchcraft studies & embracing the magic lifestyle into her work. She has been a public, “out of the broom closet” witch since taking her first occult job at 19 years old at The Cat, The Crow & The Crown in Salem’s Pickering Wharf in the early aughts.
Zhana respects the preciousness of individual identity and is aligned with causes granting dignity to all living things. She views healing as process and holding sacred space for others to open into their authenticity is at the heart of her work. In 2023 Zhana received training in Trauma Informed Client Care Practices through The People’s Medicine Project in western Massachusetts.

Tarot Thursday with Zhana
Sweetgrass kicks off our Tarot Thursdays on December 19th when our friend Zhana is in-house to give professional tarot readings from 4pm-7pm.

Shamanic Journey Circle with Zhana
Whether you are deepening your journey practice or anticipating your first ever shamanic journey, Zhana will host this magical fireside evening at Sweetgrass Botanicals with instruction, live drumming and integration.
We will begin the evening by creating sacred space and clearing energy blockages with a fire ceremony assisted by locally wildcrafted plants. We will then discuss the shamanic three worlds/ spirit walking and share instruction and tips for a successful journey to lower or upper world to meet and experience your guides and helping spirits. Zhana holds the sacred container and drums to facilitate the journey with time afterwards for journaling and group sharing practices for personal reflection and integration.

Somatics, Embodiment and Cannabis
Let's cozy up by the fire for a practical and experiential introduction to somatic self exploration. Local embodiment practitioner Leia Friedwoman, M.S. will take us through a grounding meditation, brief introduction to somatic self work, and a practical (sober) demonstration of at least one somatic technique, with plenty of time for Q&A.

Supporting Intentional Psychedelic Journeys with Cannabis - A Conversation with Daniel Shankin
Sweetgrass hosts a rare, in-person event featuring renowned Psychadelic Educator and Integration Coach, Daniel Shankin. This talk will cover how cannabis can help prepare you for therapeutic and spiritual experiences and guide you through integration afterwards.

Rebozo Workshop at Sweetgrass Botanicals
Yael Flauder brings us a moment of deep relaxation for the mind and body in our private classroom upstairs from the dispensary, with a cozy fireplace and views overlooking Laurel Lake at sunset.
Rebozo is a traditional Mexican cotton cloth/scarf used to support women giving birth, and after the birth when they reclaim their body and close the energetic portals. Today we use this same technique to bring gentle reassurance and confidence to the body, relieve muscular tensions and provide a sensation of deep caring to those suffering grief, living though a transition closing a chapter or simply feeling insecure.
The session will be followed by a simple vegetarian meal and time to chat, ask Yael questions and watch night fall from the spacious deck. Drinks and food included in price!

Mila Jansen Book Signing and Meet-and-Greet
Join us at Sweetgrass Botanicals for an incredible afternoon of conversation and book signing with the Hash Queen herself, Mila Jansen!
At 79, Mila is probably the most important woman in the cannabis world. “How I Became the Hash Queen” is Mila’s fascinating memoir that tells the tale of her unusual life and world travels…and she will be signing copies of the book and meeting the community from 3 PM to 6 PM on Thursday, May 16th.

Growing Your Own Cannabis at Home - Workshop with Tammi Sweet
Sweetgrass Botanicals is excited to host Tammi Sweet, author of “The Beginner’s Guide to Growing Cannabis” for a special “Grow Your Own Workshop.” Beginners and experts alike will all appreciate this class! Tea and snacks will be provided.

Berkshires Mushroom Festival
Calling all mushroom enthusiasts, foragers, growers, chefs, and psychonauts to the inaugural Berkshires Mushroom Fest on Sunday, April 14th. Hosted by Sweetgrass and facilitated by Baystaters, this will be a fun and educational and community-building event focused on exploring the vast world of mycology.
Notable speakers include foraging legend John Wheeler, Founder of the Berkshire Mycological Society and James Davis, the Founder of Baystaters and an activist myco teacher and advocate for plant medicines.There will also be workshops on mushroom dying, mushroom tasting sessions, and free wood-fired, organic mushroom pizza (with vegan options)
The event is FREE, but donations to Bay Staters are encouraged and there will be fun and unique items available for purchase!

This Saturday Fred Gibson, Owner and Operations Manager of Gibby’s Garden, returns to Sweetgrass to showcase some of their fantastic product.
