Is weed legal in the Berkshires?
Yes it is! In Massachusetts, adults 21 and older can legally purchase and consume cannabis.
How much cannabis can I buy in a single day?
Massachusetts has a daily limit on the amount of cannabis you can purchase. These limits are:
Flower: one ounce per day
Concentrates: five grams per day
Edibles: 500 mg per day
Please note that purchases from one category count against another category, so if you buy 250 mg of edibles then you can only purchase an additional half-ounce of flower (or 2.5 grams of concentrates).
What do I need to enter a dispensary?
In Massachusetts, if you're 21 or over, you're legally permitted to purchase goods at a cannabis retailer. To prove your age, you'll need to show a valid government-issued ID. Acceptable identification includes any government-issued ID showing your age and with a photograph, an expiration date, and signature, e.g. your state driver's license, any U.S. identification card, military IDs, or passport.
I’ve never been to a dispensary before…how does this all work?
Don’t worry! We know that a trip to a dispensary can sometimes be overwhelming, and have worked hard to create a welcoming and laid-back environment to make the experience as easy as possible for first-time visitors.
When you arrive at Sweetgrass Botanicals, head down the stairs from the main parking lot to our front desk. You will be greeted there and asked to provide verification that you are 21 years or older, after which you can then proceed into the store.
Walk down the corridor to our large Mercantile room, where you will be greeted by a member of our retail team. This large, open space contains a broad array of thoughtfully-sourced lifestyle and wellness goods appealing to both smokers and non-smokers alike. There are also comfy couches by the fireplace, seats overlooking the lake in our reading corner, and a table with chairs should you wish to sit down for a complementary tea.
To explore our menu of cannabis products, you can grab one of the iPads distributed around the store, look at one of the screens, or head into the Dispensary room (on the right side of the fireplace) to speak with one of our staff at the bud bar.

From Exit 10, merge onto US-20 West
After a five minute drive through downtown Lee and alongside Laurel Lake, Sweetgrass Botanicals will be on your left just after The Lakehouse Inn.
Our main parking lot is located ~200 meters after our main building. Accessible parking is available in our ADA parking lot along US-20
From US-20 East or US-7 South (Pittsfield and the northern Berkshires):
Head towards Lenox on either US-20 East (Pittsfield) or US-7 South (for north of Pittsfield)
Continue on US-20 East through the town of Lenox
Just after crossing into the town of Lee, our main parking lot will be the first entrance on your right hand side
For our ADA entrance and parking lot, continue past the main parking entrance for 100 meters. The accessible parking area is located alongside US-20 next to the main Sweetgrass Botanicals building
From US-7 South (Great Barrington and southern Berkshires)
Head towards Lenox on US-7 North
After passing The Mount, turn right on Plunkett Street, driving 0.6 miles to the intersection of US-20
Turn right to merge onto US-20 East
Just after crossing into the town of Lee, our main parking lot will be the first entrance on your right hand side
For our ADA entrance and parking lot, continue past the main parking entrance for 100 meters. The accessible parking area is located alongside US-20 next to the main Sweetgrass Botanicals building
From US-20 West (Becket and points east)
Head on US-20 West until reaching the Town of Lee
After passing alongside Laurel Lake, Sweetgrass Botanicals will be on your left just after The Lakehouse Inn.
